Setup Guide

Set Up Splashtop SOS on Windows

Download and run a small app to let Aaron connect to your PC for a remote support session. No installation, no account needed — takes about 2 minutes.

1

Download the SOS App

On the PC that needs help, open any web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, etc.) and click the button below.

Download Splashtop SOS

The download is a small .exe file (approximately 5 MB). Nothing is permanently installed on your PC.

2

Run the App

Double-click the downloaded file to run it. The app opens immediately — no installation wizard, no restart needed.

You may see a User Account Control (UAC) prompt

If Windows asks "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?", click "Yes". This is normal — the app needs permission to enable remote access.

3

Get Your Session Code

Once the app opens, a 9-digit session code will appear on your screen automatically. No account or login required.

The code looks something like: 123 456 789

This code is unique to your session and expires when you close the app.

4

Share Your Code with Aaron

Call or message Aaron with your 9-digit code. He'll connect to your PC instantly and you can watch the entire session on your screen.

The session is fully encrypted and ends the moment you close the app. You can watch everything happening on screen in real time.

Troubleshooting

"Windows protected your PC" (SmartScreen warning)

This is Windows SmartScreen protecting against unrecognised downloads. To proceed:

  1. Click "More info" on the SmartScreen warning
  2. Click "Run anyway"

Splashtop SOS is a trusted, enterprise-grade remote support tool used by thousands of IT providers worldwide.

User Account Control (UAC) prompt appears

If you see a dialog asking "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?", click "Yes". This is normal and required for the remote access to function properly.

If you don't have admin access on the PC, you may need to ask your administrator to approve the prompt.

Windows Firewall blocked the app

If Windows Firewall shows a security alert, click "Allow access" for both private and public networks. Splashtop needs network access to establish the encrypted remote connection.

The download won't start or the file won't open

Try these steps:

  1. Check your browser's download bar or Downloads folder for the file
  2. If your antivirus blocked it, add an exception for the Splashtop download
  3. Try a different browser (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox)
  4. Call Aaron on 1300 769 337 and he'll walk you through it

Ready for Remote Support?

Download the app, share your code, and Aaron will connect in seconds.
